This week has been project-less. I’m really starting to get the itch to get in there and try another task, but for now, I am still reading my manual. I would be done with it by this point but I am also participating in a pretty intense reading challenge on Goodreads.com (best book site ever!) And this month, I chose to finally read Harry Potter. I know, I know. No one was kidding when saying it was a quick read. I read books one and two in a matter of three days! I actually haven’t started book three yet because I knew it would mean even more things wouldn’t get done. Probably including this post. So, I’ve told myself that I must complete reading the manual before I can move on the next book, so hopefully that means I have it done by the next time you hear from me!
I’ve also completed week one of Raechel Myer’s Sewing 101 class. Again, I haven’t started week two for the reason stated above… but I’ll get there! I did get my pretty supplies in though, which I am super excited about. The felt is so I can retry the door muffler from my earlier post. Hopefully that works better.
Raechel, you’ve definitely sold me on the magnetic “pincushion.”
The only other thing I got around to doing this week is winding my bobbins. By the way, reading your manual, or at least watching a tutorial before doing this is extremely helpful. I remember reading how to do it on my machine when I first wound some bobbins but I guess I didn’t finish reading because I didn’t know when to stop, so of course, I stopped WAY to early. Now I know, and you can tell which ones I did before reading!
Can you tell which ones I didn’t read the instructions for?
Also, for some reason, I hadn’t paid attention to how the thread the kept together, so when I sat down to do the other half of my bobbins, I finally realized that little grove in the top of the thread was to hold it neatly together. Feeling like a doofus. Oh well, it’s all part of the adventure right?!
See you next week!
